One more time, I take the airplane from Jogyakarta to Bajarmasin, South-Kalimantan. This time, I am travelling with Louise. We are going to explorate areas around Barjamasin, for one week only.
Once arrived, we find a taxi which brings us to an hotel in the city center. There, a guid keeps talking but we are definely not interested by his touristic tour. We go out, walking around the free market which is near the river. In the free market we meet a funny guid. He wants to take us on a small colored boat to visit the villages which surround channels. We agree. During the trip, we cross villages, houses are made by wood and sheet metal. Many people are taking their shower outside, still wearing clothes, near the canal. Kids swim and shout. We lash down in a village to take a walk. Kids follow us. People are happy to meet us. The only trouble is the guid who cannot stop talking about other tours. He is annoying so when we arrive to the port we leave him the fastest possible. Then we go to eat and come back to the hotel.
