In
Surabaya's airport I take a bus to rejoin the main bus station to take
another bus for Jogyakarta. There, I meet Rashid, 23 years old,
originally from Pulau in Sulawesi. He is travelling around Indonesia, mainly in Java. He wants to go to Yogyakarta so we take the same bus. It is interesting. For once, it is me who shows the directions, he is
just following me. It is his first time in Surabaya. To arrive in
Jogyakarta, it takes more than 8hours. We arrive at 2am in a station
completly in the south of the city. The driver had promised to bring
me in the north because I live there but finaly he does not bring me near my home.
It is too late, I tell Rashid that he can come at my home and sleep
in the living room. Then we take a taxi which brings us at my home. Later my
housemates are surprised to see an unknow guy sleeping in our living
room. But they tell me that he can stay how long he wants so he
stays one night more.
It
was a good experience to be helpful with this guy because it has already happened to me many time to be helped, accomodated, shown the places around thanks to some people that I had just met. So I was happy to be helpful.
Now
my housemates like saying that I am the one who takes care of homeless in this house !!
I should create a social organization !
